2nd STIMESI workshop to be held at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, Germany

The 2nd STIMESI workshop on MEMS and microsystems research and teaching will be held at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences on 18 November, 2008.

This one day workshop, organised by the STIMESI consortium, aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners in MEMS in order to present research, share teaching experiences and encourage the formation of new academic collaborations.

The format of the workshop consists of a series of short lectures by invited speakers and presentations, both oral and poster, delivered by researchers and students selected from submitted abstracts. Topics addressed by the workshop comprise: microfluidic systems, capacitive and piezoresistive sensors, RF MEMS and best-practice in microsystems teaching.

This year's invited speakers include, among others: Dr Andreas Vogl (SINTEF, Norway), Dr Danilo Demarchi (Politecnico di Torino, Italy), Prof. Andrew Richardson (University of Lancaster, UK), Dr Carl Antony (University of Birmingham, UK), Dr Ignacio Gill (UA Barcelona, Spain) and Prof. Erik Thomsen (DTU, Denmark).

Attendance of the workshop is free of charge.
